The RA global download menu option seemed rather laborious and prone to user error and so I wrote RAFTAG to get around it. It is a simple door which reads/writes TAGLIST.RA (a new feature for RA 2.02). Users compile a list of the files they require offline using their favourite text editor, upload this wish list to the door which then searches the file database for the files, tags them and exits back to the BBS. ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ» ÍÍÍÍ͹ Why use it? Why use RAFTAG and not other products? Setup is INCREDIBLY easy, NO EXTERNAL PROTOCOLS are required and errr well its quite good too. When you register, you may tag a maximum of 100 files. HOWEVER, you must be aware that RemoteAccess has its own limits on the number of files you may tag in this fashion. If your copy of RA is NOT registered, then no matter how many files you tag in the door, RA will only read a maximum of 5 tagged file records. Therefore, to get full benefit from this door, you will need to register the door AND RemoteAccess. ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ» ÍÍÍÍ͹ What are the requirements? A complete loon has written this and there is no telling what it may do. The author will not be held responsible for any damage caused to your system or any other in any way whatsoever (see LICENCE.TXT). Make a directory to install RAFTAG in e.g. C:\RA\RAFTAG. Unpack the archive you received, you will basically require only the executable to run the program. Then create a new menu option in RA of type 7 (Execute sub-program), e.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345 (^F^)ast file tagging door C:\RA\RAFTAG\RAFTAG.EXE C:\RA\NODE0*N *X *M Action Execute sub-program (Type 7) Display OptData HotKey F AutoExec No Colour Colour example MinSec 100 TimeUsed 0 FlatCost 0 MaxSec 0 TimeLeft 0 TimeCost 0 A flags -------- Age 0 Terminal Any B flags -------- MinSpeed 0 Nodes C flags -------- MaxSpeed 0 Groups D flags -------- Credit 0 DayTimes The only command line argument required for the door is the path to the directory where DOOR.SYS will be found. This will normally be the directory in which you started RA (note there is NO ending backslash). In the example above, RA will convert the *N to a node number so if the option is executed on node 3, then the actual command line will be C:\RA\RAFTAG\RAFTAG.EXE C:\RA\NODE03 It is vital to use *X on the command line. This is the directive which tells RA to write the current taglist to disk on exiting to the door and to re-read it on returning from the door. The *M simply causes RA to swap itself to disk to free up more memory for the door. And thats it ! RAFTAG automatically creates a directory for each node you run it on (under the RAFTAG install dir) and in each, puts a log file called RAFTAG.LOG for you to monitor activity. Just make a REQLIST.TAG file in the appropriate node directory (under the RAFTAG install dir) and enter the door. So for instance, if you installed RAFTAG in C:\RA\RAFTAG and you run your local instance of RA on node 5, then create C:\RA\RAFTAG\5\REQLIST.TAG. Easy innit?
